Bear Swamp Baptist Church

Bear Swamp Baptist Church began as the The Meeting House, a campground and place for travelers to meet one another should they get separated. Worship of God was a regular occurrence on the land as Christians of all denominations came together. But it was in 1785 when a log cabin was built and a Baptist church was born.

Bear Swamp has always been a place for families to come together to worship God and to grow in their faith and love for one another. We are still about God's mission for the church. We want to see God move in our community and around the world, and seek to be a part of that movement. Come and be a part of the history of Bear Swamp as we love God and love one another.
